Promise Teacher & Hope Teacher
Promise Teacher (Undergraduate) & Hope Teacher (Graduate)
Funding for the Promise Teacher and Hope Teacher Scholarship programs has been removed by the Georgia legislature and will not be reinstated in the future.
Students who previously received funding from these scholarships are still expected to service cancel those funds upon completion of their program. Service canceling is based upon holding a certification in the degree field and teaching in that same certification field. For example, one should not complete a degree in history education secondary with the expectation of teaching in Middle Schools. These funds require teaching of secondary (high school) History classes in order to service cancel funds taken under Secondary History.
Questions concerning Promise & Hope Teacher scholarships should be directed to the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC). Information on the GSFC website is limited unless you create an account.
