About the Position

We have a full time teaching and administrative opportunity for an energetic and organized teacher looking to make a difference for children. In this role, you will teach students ages 5-12 years within a small group setting at a behavioral day program in Charleston, SC. responsibilities include creating lesson plans, as well as working with these student’s school districts and teachers to ensure that their learning progresses in line with their peers’ classroom educations. The hours are 7:30-4:00 PM, with 4 hours of teaching and 4 hours of administrative support per day and a starting salary of $32,000.

 

Position Requirements

To succeed in this role you must have:

-Bachelors of Education within Special Education

- South Carolina Special Education Teaching Certificate

- Experience working with children ages 5 through 12

- Experience creating lesson plans across academic disciplines

- A passion for helping children learn

- Patience and compassion for children who learn in different ways

- A commitment to excellence, integrity and improvement

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word

- Some degree of customer service experience preferred
