The Bagwell College of Education at Kennesaw State prepares future educators and leaders through innovative programs, hands-on experiences, and strong community partnerships. With degrees, programs, endorsements, and certificates focusing on education, leadership, teaching, and engaging with diverse learners, Bagwell equips students with the skills to excel in education.
Other student engagement opportunities like Educators of Tomorrow, Student Ambassadors, Black Teachers Matter, Bloom, Pláticas con Muestr@s, and Call Me Mister® address the evolving needs of the field, while the Anthology Portfolio [formerly Chalk & Wire] supports teacher education candidates. Through research, professional development, and local partnerships, Bagwell empowers elite educators who make a lasting impact in their classrooms and beyond.
The University of Paderborn, in Paderborn, Germany, has partnered with the Bagwell College of Education to expand exchange opportunities for students in both countries.
In 2025, three BCOE students are spending five months in Paderborn working in schools to complete their clinical experiences in education. In November 2025, three University of Paderborn students will spend six weeks completing an internship in Marietta City Schools while completing research projects in the BCOE’s Interactive Research Methods Lab. Additionally, the partnership provided an opportunity for 12 Marietta High School teachers to complete a week of professional development in Paderborn schools and the University of Paderborn, bringing together teachers and faculty from both communities.
BCOE offers sincere thanks to Drs. Sabine Smith and Jeannette Bottcher, who created this partnership many years ago. We also offer thanks to the Halle Foundation, who offers financial support to both BCOE and Paderborn students to fulfill these exchanges.
